Attorney Lawrence J. Moran, Sr. concentrates his practice assisting the victims of serious, catastrophic and fatal injuries. As a plaintiff's lawyer he has won millions of dollars in trial verdicts and settlements for countless seriously injured victims and their families across the region.

He maintains a strong professional interest in protecting the Civil Rights of both adults and children who have been seriously mistreated by school districts and other local , state and federal governmental entities and their employees or private industry.

During a career spanning more than three decades, Attorney Moran has served as the Chief Trial Lawyer in the Lackawanna County District Attorney's Office prosecuting major felony cases. He has also previously served as General Counsel for Litigation for Lackawanna County where he supervised numerous lawyers in the handling of a wide variety of lawsuits in which the county was a named party.

In addition to his private practice, he currently serves as the Chief Public Defender for Lackawanna County. In this role he supervises a staff of eleven attorneys who represent indigent adults charged with criminal offenses.

Attorney Moran is the founder and principal of The Moran Law Group, LLC headquartered in Jermyn, Pa. He also is Of Counsel to the Scranton , Pa. based law firm of Lenahan and Dempsey, PC.

Distinctions/Memberships

Since 1994 Attorney Moran has maintained a dual certification by the National Board of Trial Advocacy as a Civil and Criminal Trial Advocate. The National Board of Trial Advocacy's standards for certification include requiring a trial lawyer to furnish evidence of good standing in the lawyer's state of admission, substantial involvement in several enumerated areas of trial advocacy, and substantial participation in continuing legal education and the development of the law. The Board also requires the lawyer to submit references from peers and judges, and to pass a written examination that tests his or her knowledge of civil or criminal trial law - or, in Mr. Moran's case, both.

Since 2005 Mr. Moran has been recognized annually and selected by Philadelphia Magazine as a Pennsylvania Super Lawyer. He is also a member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum.

Attorney Moran has been admitted to the Bars of the Supreme Court of the United States of America, the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania and both State and Federal Trial and Appellate Courts in Pennsylvania.

Attorney Moran is graduate of the University of Scranton (magna cum laude) and the Villanova University School of Law.

Attorney Moran and his wife Kathryn are the parents of five children and the grandparents of three.

Robert T. Moran

Robert T. Moran concentrates his practice in civil litigation, with a focus in personal injury and civil rights law. He has helped The Moran Law Group recover millions of dollars for seriously injured victims and their families.

Mr. Moran maintains a strong professional interest in protecting the Civil Rights of both adults and children who have been seriously mistreated by school districts and other local, state and federal governmental entities and their employees or private industry.

In addition to private practice, Mr. Moran serves as Law Clerk to the Honorable Thomas J. Munley, Lackawanna County Court of Common Pleas.

Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Moran spent nearly a decade holding key executive positions for successful private business organizations, which ranged across a spectrum of disciplines, including: energy and environmental services; technology and software; international import/export; human services; and real estate. He was appointed, and remains, an executive board member for the UCC Board of Appeals for Jermyn Borough, Pennsylvania.

Mr. Moran is a graduate of Widener University Commonwealth Law School. He received a B.S. with honors in Liberal Studies and A.S. in Criminal Justice from the University of Scranton.

He is a member of the Pennsylvania State Bar, Bar of the United States District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania, United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, Pennsylvania Bar Association, and Lackawanna County Bar Association.

Bob and his wife, Stacey, are the loving parents of two children, Ruby and Maxwell.

Luke P. Moran

Luke P. Moran is a graduate of Western Michigan University Cooley Law School. He received his B.A. with honors in American Studies from the Pennsylvania State University. Prior to joining the firm, he honed his skills as a trial lawyer serving as Assistant District Attorney with the Luzerne County District Attorney's Office prosecuting major felony cases in a county with one of the highest crime rates in Pennsylvania. Assigned to the Firearm and Narcotics Unit- Trial Division, Luke served as lead or co-counsel on major felony convictions at both Bench and Jury Trials, obtaining guilty verdicts on the highest charge for offenses including first-degree criminal homicide, attempted homicide, narcotics trafficking and manufacturing, armed robbery and illegal firearm possession and distribution.

Prior to joining the District Attorney's Office, Luke served as law clerk to the Honorable James M. Munley of the United States District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania. As law clerk to Judge Munley, Luke advised and assisted the Judge throughout all stages of litigation, with a primary focus on complex civil actions involving civil rights, personal injury, medical malpractice, contract disputes, and a wide range of Constitutional, healthcare and corporate litigation. Luke helped draft opinions, memoranda, trial briefs and court orders that shaped his intimate familiarity with complex litigation as well as the judicial decision-making process.

Luke is a member of the Pennsylvania State Bar, Pennsylvania Bar Association, United States District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania and the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.
